Peripherals
High-quality peripherals are a critical component of CASA (Computer-Assisted Sperm Analysis) systems to ensure reliable human sperm assessment, precise image capture, and consistent results. AKYmed recommends microscopes, cameras, and workstation setups optimized for the QualiSperm CASA human sperm analysis workflow.

Microscopes
AKYmed recommends an upright light microscope with 0.5× or 1× camera adaptor.
Phase contrast with a 10× Ph1 objective is required for sperm concentration and motility analysis, while bright-field optics are used for vitality and morphology.
Compatible brands include Olympus, Nikon, Zeiss, Leica, and Motic.
Digital cameras
For reliable CASA imaging, AKYmed works with validated digital cameras from IDS Imaging Development Systems, including UI-1540LE Rev.2, UI-3240ML, and UI-3240CP Rev.2.
These cameras provide stable image acquisition for automated analysis of sperm motility, concentration, vitality, and morphology.
Work station (PC)
QualiSperm CASA requires a desktop workstation with Intel Core i3 or higher, minimum 8 GB RAM, and 500 GB hard disk.
Supported operating systems are Windows 10 and Windows 11, ensuring stable performance for routine CASA analysis.
Heating stages
For temperature-controlled sperm analysis, AKYmed works with heating stage solutions from Okolab.
